La Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas ha anunciado su lista completa de nominaciones al Oscar 2020. La temporada de premios de este año será más corta de lo habitual, ya que la 92ª edición de los Premios de la Academia está prevista para principios de febrero en lugar de a finales del mes o incluso marzo (como es tradicional).
Como resultado, las organizaciones han estado repartiendo honores a diestra y siniestra últimamente, en el período previo al evento principal. Sólo este fin de semana, Avengers: Endgame se llevó a casa el premio de la Crítica a la Mejor Película de Acción 2019, venciendo a fuertes contendientes al Oscar como Ford vs. Ferrari.
A estas alturas, han surgido claros favoritos en varias de las principales categorías del Oscar. 1917 y Parasite son las favoritas para ganar a Mejor Película, con Sam Mendes liderando el cargo de Mejor Director tras su victoria en los Globos de Oro 1917. Joaquin Phoenix y Renée Zellweger también ganaron los Globos por sus actuaciones en Joker y Judy, lo que los convierte en los candidatos a vencer en la noche de los Oscar.
