Returnal ha ganado el premio al mejor juego en los BAFTA Games Awards de este año.
El exclusivo de Housemarque para PS5 estaba nominado al premio principal junto a Deathloop, Forza Horizon 5, Inscryption, It Takes Two y Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

También ganó los premios de Logro de Audio, Música e Intérprete en un Papel Protagonista, que fue otorgado a Jane Perry por su papel de Selene Vassos.
Otros ganadores múltiples fueron Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (por la animación y el logro técnico), It Takes Two (por el multijugador y la propiedad original) y Unpacking (por la narrativa y el juego EE del año, el único premio votado por el público).

En los BAFTA Game Awards del año pasado, Hades arrasó, llevándose a casa 5 premios, incluido el de Juego del Año.

Con un número récord de votos, The Last of Us Part II también se llevó el premio al Juego del Año EE.
El nuevo modo de supervivencia de Returnal, Tower of Sisyphus, se lanzó el mes pasado y ofrece a los jugadores un modo «sin fin» durante el cual luchan hasta la cima de una torre. La actualización gratuita también añadió soporte cooperativo para el juego principal.
